Photography.
Looking through my father’s eyes.
Looking from my own perspective and zooming in on the details or the grand whole. Creating my atmosphere. Looking with my heart and seeing beauty and suffering, also bound together. At Cranbrook Art Academy I majored in textials with photography and architecture as a minor. I ended as a sculptor, with even my photographs being mounted as a piece of sculpture.
At the moment, photographs are becoming part of big installations, and are combined with sculptural devices. Big photo’s printed on linen and hanging as fragile carpets on the wall.
As an artist my involvement is total because only art can keep the flow of life in its short airy moments. I feel the necessity to capture these moments in order to create the image of the moment. My view creates the image, my perception chooses the topic. I try to cleanse the doors of perception so we can see infinity. My vision is my doubt and my motivation to continue my research. I live intensely through my wonder.
Le Petit Prince: it’s so simple, said the fox. Only with your heart you can see well. The essence is invisible for the eyes.
